M.O.D. is proud to announce that their earsplitting remix of Neikka RPM's "Deep Dive" is out for their new ep "Battle Scars" published by Alfa Matrix !!!
Listen and enjoy it <3 !!! https://alfamatrix.bandcamp.com/track/deep-dive-earsplitting-remix-by-m-o-d M.O.D. – Broken Machinery (CD EP – M.O.D.) By Stéphane Froidcoeur Genre/Influences: Dark EBM, dark-electro. Background/Info: I discovered M.O.D. by their full length “Le Dios Mechanische” (2013). The Italian duo Maryhell and Angie Vhelena revealed an interesting dark-electro sound mixed with EBM elements. They now strike back with a new EP featuring 4 new tracks plus 4 remixes.Content: I first of all noticed a global improvement of the different elements of the production. The sound became more powerful and the songs more consistent and accomplished. M.O.D. is not exactly reinventing genres like dark-electro and EBM, but they clearly deal with a mature and efficient sound. There’s a ‘cyber’ touch throughout the songs, which reminds me of bands like Ext!ze, Terror Error and co. The somewhat raw, technoid manipulations inject this exciting and technoid touch, which has been merged with a solid dark-electronic basis. You also will notice haunting leads hanging over the songs, which reminds me a bit of Hocico. The vocals by Maryhell add a bewitching female touch to the work. It’s an interesting twist with the dark sound and quite different from the usual heavy, distorted male vocals used by most of the bands. A last and essential point concerns the remixes of the title song, which are absolutely efficient. I have a preference for the remix of Ira-K Organisation. ↑↑↑: The evolution of the global production is absolutely remarkable and resulted in great songs. I like the dark-cyber touch of their work. ↓↓↓ : There’s only one song, which can’t totally convince me (cf. “Crabby Scary Mind”) although it’s a cool B-side track. Conclusion: M.O.D. is ready to take the dark-electro planet by surprise. This EP has the power to conquer numerous dance floors. I just hope “Broken Machinery” will get a proper diffusion. Best songs: “Ready Go And Try”, “Without Regrets”, “Broken Machinery”, “Broken Machinery – Ira-K Organisation Noisemix”. Rate: (DP:8)DP. M.O.D.
Broken machinery, che dà il titolo alla release, è più che eloquente: you think you can control it – you know you can’t destroy it – it’s much too late to face it – the fight is, so hard. Label: Self-released Voto: 6, 5 Broken MachineryM.O.D. Dark Electro Released off label 2015 Steven's rating 7.5 good Back in November upcoming dark electro duo Maryhell and Angie Vhelena otherwise known for their stage name M.O.D. released their four track EP "Broken Machinery". This dark electro banger is a solid mix of experimental electronic music and pure cybergothic beats. The ever enraging couple avoid stereotypes of the genre while engaging their fans with not so ordinary rhythms and aural attacks. Combined with their own talent, four other remixes are attached to the EP. They are less an extension to the EP and more that of artwork. 'Broken Machinery' alas is a base principle in the dark electro genre. While it was well done and the sparks of noise were noted, the song itself was rather plain to myself. However, I did appreciate the none too distorted or digitally effected vocals which is a lovely change for dark electro music. Maryhell's voice is vicious and nasty and spouts out the lyrical content with ease. 'Ready Go And Try' was appreciated, however, as a cleaner sound emerged with renewed energy and excitement. It was 'Crabby Scary Mind' that really put the EP to a high point. The song is a jumble of hardcore elements and dark electro overtones. Each thumping pulse of bass was absolutely ecstatic, and this track was grand. If there is any direction M.O.D. should pursue it should be this one. The final song 'Without Regrets' was decent and had a much faster pace, but was sort of a let down from the giant power vacuum left off from 'Crabby Scary Mind'. At the end of 'Without Regrets' is where the remix section began. Just to reiterate, these four remixes do not feel like conventional end of the EP add on bonuses, but rather matured products of dedicated artists. Each remix is of the title track and single 'Broken Machinery' which is rather dull, but each remix is still superb. Electronica band TEMPLEzONE influenced the track to an industrial metal course, inputting heavy guitars in the mix. Maryhell's ever savage chords fit well within this realm. Harsh EBM act FIrst Black Pope also delivered well on the EP, ferociously kicking up the beat and emphasizing wonderful synth lines. IDM and noise act ARTCORE MACHINE put in a rhythmic noise touch to the song, exorcising most other elements from the track. It was another addition that was well done. Lastly, the bloody industrial Ira-k Organisation put a muddy twist on the track and made the experimental electronics even more unorthodox. But, the more unconventional, the better. Now, from what I know, M.O.D. is currently looking for a label to sign with. If this EP doesn't convince at least someone to sign them somewhere then I think there is a malicious spirit out there in the vastness of space working against these two in a Lovecraftian manner. You can purchase this EP from M.O.D.'s bandcamp in both physical and digital formats for a pretty cheap price, so go check it out. M.O.D.
One death every forthy second! Nicola Tenani http://www.mod-elektro.tk/ M.O.D. Broken Machinery [CD (EP)] EBM • Electro Rock • Electronics • Harsh Electro [82/100] Self-released 02/12/2015, Didier BECU Maryhill and Angie Vhelena already are active in the Italian scene for a while. After a demo and a few digital releases through Gothic World, the duo proudly presents itsr new EP Broken Machinery, that is available on both digital and CD form. They intent to mix EBM with experimental electronica, but without losing the sense of melody, and complemented with a high dose of aggressiveness. After listening to this EP, you can only conclude that Mary Hell and Angie Vhelena brilliantly reached their goal. If we do have to be critical, then it might have been better if the two Italians chose Without Regrets as the main track. Not because the cyber electro punk of Broken Machinery sounds bad (of course not!), but simply because Without Regrets is one of the best harsh electro songs we have heard in a long time. Any DJ who reads this definitely should try the track, because it’ll put every dance floor on fire. Ready Go And Try with the distorted vocals, made us think of Alien Vampires, while Chabby Scary Mind sounds scary funny. In addition to these four tracks, you also get four remixes of Broken Machinery which are so varied that you hardly notice it is everytime the same track. Of course you have to like harsh electro, but if this genre is your favorite, then you better go in the direction of Italy!
